PDF Service for Hummingbird DM

PDF format is considered one of the best ways to distribute electronic documents outside of the document management system. Document metadata within the file is not distributed (such as Track Changes or Document Properties in Microsoft Word documents) and PDF files are not generally susceptible to viruses and malicious macros.

PDF Service for Hummingbird DM allows users to create and email PDF renditions of documents in the document management system. Users simply highlight the documents they want to convert and distribute in the Document Menu and select "Create PDF". The files are then sent to server on the firm's network using a web service. The PDF files are generated using the AdLib eXpress Server engine and are then handed back to the user as an attachment to a new email message.
