Matrix Logic's Wireless Document Management Suite (WDMS) extends the reach of your document repository. It allows you access to key information from a handheld or wireless device. Now you can access your documents without starting up your laptop! WDMS allows IS staff to deploy wireless document access to many different users of many different devices, from one suite of software.
Connect 'live' to your document repository
Since WDMS translates requests to and from your wireless device, any changes in your DOCS
repository are immediately visible from your handheld.
Connect from different devices
You may connect from many different phones, pagers, Palm's and PocketPC's. The list of
supported devices is growing all the time.
Search, Retrieve documents
You can search your document libraries right from your phone or handheld. Documents may be
emailed or faxed anywhere.
Download Documents
Download an a copy of any DMS document to your mobile device (e.g. PocketPC, Palm) wirelessly.
Take documents by USB
Take your documents with you on a USB drive and update them anywhere. Sync them via the nearest PC!
View documents and document references
Simple document viewing is now available with WDMS through some handhelds (e.g.
BlackBerry). Documents are rendered on the fly for viewing on the small screen.
View Email attachments
With WDMS, you can view 'rendered' email attachments or document references that were
previously unreadable on a handheld. For example, if someone emails you a Word document,
or a reference on your BlackBerry, you can request the server send you the contents of the
documents as readable text!
Document notification
A notification module allows you to 'subscribe' and be notified of changes to projects,
quick searches and documents via email or on your handheld.
Synchronize documents
For the mobile worker with a PocketPC or Windows CE handheld, document synchronization is
available. Wireless connections are not required for this feature. This allows you
automatically synchronize editable or read-only Word or Excel documents in DOCS with
WindowsCE.
Global Address Book Lookup
Remote users of mobile email devices or BlackBerries can search the central Global Address Book for contact information with the email module
System Administration
Several system administration functions are available for IT staff wirelessly (e.g. unlocking documents, checking status, etc.)
Matrix Logic's Wireless Document Management Suite is modular and can be installed on one server or multiple machines. Some modules are designed to run with DOCS Open, eDOCS DM 5.1.0.5+ and 6.0.1+
Devices are supported via Microbrowser, WAP, Email and over the web. This enables the support of many different devices, and in some cases, provides a choice as to whether the user connects via a built in service or an additional service option.
For example, some smartphones have browsers by default, and would usually connect via the Microbrowser Module.
View a Demo of the Microbrowser on an iPhone
BlackBerry devices have email built in, and that would be the simplest way to connect. BlackBerry users with a mobile browser would have the option to use that also. This also applies to other handheld devices, and the choice is getting greater all the time.
The Microbrowser and Email modules are server based. The MobileSync module uses a thin client and a Webservice on the server.
The Apple iPhone is now supported with its own rich client via our Microbrowser module.
Users with no handheld device are not left out either! Our new MobileSync module can be installed on a USB 'thumb drive'
and users can take it with them, pop it into a machine, and sync documents with the office over the internet!

Mobile Synchronization with DM on a USB drive
Matrix Logic's Wireless Document Management Suite is designed to run on existing DM servers/webservers. It does not need additional hardware, or portal infrastructure. We designed WirelessDMS to be light and small on the server and on the handheld device.
